This'll be way better/go way faster/be way easier than doing each card back by hand. From L to R, first one is with open circles, 2nd through 4th are with closed circles. 2nd is best of those 3. The paint's going to go on the card a little goopy, the placement won't be perfectly identical from card to card, but that's okay. When it's all done it's meant to look handmade, bespoke, unique, messy/imperfect.

mk30One of my struggles with collage is avoiding the urge to overstuff the page. My impulse is to jam pack the page full of stuff to maximize how much the viewer sees. But obviously that's not always the best, either visually or for understanding (too much visual info can overwhelm the eye and prevent the viewer from being able to take anything in at all).As an example, here are two versions of the same spread for my wip collage magazine project called "keep dreaming of structured settings".The first one is the overstuffed initial page I had, and the second one is still quite packed, but with a bit of breathing room and a more unified pallette that I think is more harmonious and less visually overwhelming and chaotic. It might still be too overstuffed, but at least it's getting better. Cool enough to still wear a long sleeve thermal but warm enough if I just want to wear short sleeves.
