This was really good.
COVID cases in NC, undercounting
"[COVID] case numbers likely aren’t as low as official data suggests. 'We are in a surge now,'" says Dr. David Wohl, infectious disease specialist at UNC Health. “Cases are dramatically increasing and over the last week we have seen hospitalizations and deaths start to climb.” Wohl suggests continued masking and rapid testing before large gatherings like graduations or Memorial Day bbqs. https://www.heraldsun.com/news/local/article261298942.html #COVID #northcarolina
Meedan, the non-profit where I work, is looking for a social media intern to help with comms. This is a paid position. Meedan is fully remote and has been for more than a decade.
This would be a great job for someone passionate about our mission, which you can read about here: https://meedan.com/about
Now I'm in the Main Library.
The Main Library is gorgeous, y'all!
I found a "study space" that fits up to three people and it was pretty easy and free to sign up. So that's my next move.
I'm downtown on the search for a coworking space so that I don't become a hermit zombie that plays Kingdom Hearts all day until I get fired.
In a situation that I imagine locals might find laughable, I have attempted American Underground and had to make an appointment for tomorrow afternoon via email. No front desk or anything. Maybe this is a good thing. Imagine being paid to interact with my goofy ass.
They might as well have added, "You big galoot."
I....would like to compost, but our apartment complex seems exclusively focused on dumpsters. Trying to figure out if there's a place in #DurhamNC where I can just drop off compost material regularly.
Hi! I just moved to Durham in April of 2022. I'd like to help the local labor movement, patron local shopkeepers, and eat some grub.
