We're in deep 💩 now

I don't know what the #Buddhist stance is, specifically, on #IndependenceDay, but I'm pretty sure our Teachers wouldn't be into it.

I tried searching it on line, came up with #Dhamma talks about what constitutes real #Freedom. Which is a damn good point. And was reminded that clinging, e.g., to mythic images of our various national icons, is not free. Or as one meme I saw a couple of years back put it, "I'm not free but I have this cool [flag] t-shirt."

I took a look at #Matrix (with the #Schildichat client), wondering if I could use my own chat room there instead of a Mattermost server, that I use for #Dhamma Talk questions and feedback in my Dhamma Talk livestream videos:

While Schildichat was very Discord-esque, my sense was that it's still overly fiddly; I wouldn't suggest it to anyone except a geek.

Matrix definitely blew away IRC, & I think all #OpenSource geeks worth their salt should eschew #Discord for Matrix.
