I just also want the people who are happy with a boring Dem to support switching to #RankedChoiceVoting and not tell those of us who are further left to ever STFU.

(Including St Louis Approval with Top Two runoff, and likely your city's Plurality with Top Two runoff)

STAR gives a slight advantage to "Honest Inflation", which is giving your favorite 5 stars because you want them to win this election. STAR simply sums the points for the "primary" round, then it's an automatic runoff between the top two, pairwise

http://starvoting.org/peer_review

😀🚲
What is behind the thinking of Missouri banning #RankedChoiceVoting, and only allowing St Louis a specific carve-out for Approval voting, in the ballot measure that limits election methods to "one vote per voter". Is a vote like a dollar, that you give to one candidate, & can't equally support two candidates? Do we really want to define the constitutionality of our elections in terms of plurality? Ironically, Ranked Choice IRV is like that dollar, only one candidate "gets" your vote at a time

😀🚲
Will it be a good thing for Alaska to repeal its silly choose-only-one primary with a top-four RCV? Uh... no, maybe, ugh 😞. Why didn't they start with something good instead of what's being pushed by the well-paid lobbyists and establishment politicians? Is the entire point of #RankedChoiceVoting (for those who actually understand and support it) to simply block actually good and simple reforms like Approval or STAR with the misconception that "we tried that and it didn't work"? Probably.

Political Bill SC
Yesterday in #GreenwoodSC we held a runoff election for the City of Greenwood Ward 3.

Runoff elections are a tremendous waste of money and resources, especially for the considerably reduced turnout they bring compared to the main election. Think of the polling locations that need to be opened, the poll workers that need to staff them, the counting and certification again. So much waste!

I'm a huge supporter of ranked choice voting. If the appetite isn't there for the big elections (national and statewide), perhaps we could implement this for primaries and local elections where there are three or more candidates in the running.

Do away with runoff elections!

#RankedChoiceVoting

https://www.yahoo.com/news/ranked-choice-voting-faces-cloudy-113052031.html
