waiting for summer @autumn I'd considered it - and even have a Punkt phone for her, but she asked for a watch because that's what her friends all use. 
One big quirk is that the Punkt phone doesn't support MMS (not a surprise given the dumb-phone state). Surprisingly, it supports Signal, albeit poorly.

@thomrstrom@triangletoot.party@vbatts @autumn The #Punkt #MP02 is very clever - I would use it as my daily driver if it supported MMS. There is no send functionality, and incoming MMS's show up as error messages on GoogleFi.
The Punkt does have Signal support, but it's not an official client, so it breaks periodically and isn't compatible with the desktop client.
