6:00AM: 36F, overcast.

We went to bed commenting on how the weather had cleared and it was hard to imagine another front was poised to sweep through.

Woke up to about 1/2" of snow and endless (that is hyperbole) rain in the forecast. Well, rain/snow today and part of tomorrow, then rain as far as the eye can see (not hyperbole.)

6:00AM: 36F, overcast.

7:00AM: EDITED TO ADD: SNOW!

We must have had a snow flurry last night because my phone's lock screen had snow falling over my forest scene.

Nothing stuck, however. At least where I am.

100% chance of snow showers today, so maybe I'll get another crazy pic of 50 cent piece sized flakes!

Come to think of it, are 50c pieces still in circulation? I haven't seen one in years.

6:30AM: 30F, fair.

Sunny days really bring home the amount of light we have now. It always amazes me how quickly the darkness recedes in the spring.

Ugh. At least I get a couple hours of dark at mid-summer here. When I lived in Tok, the best we got was civil twilight if I remember correctly. Maybe nautical? Civil is sun at 6 degrees below the horizon and nautical is 12.

I could read the newspaper outside at 1AM if that helps.

6:00AM: 31F, partly cloudy.

Looks like a good weekend for walking ahead. Rain (with the ever-present "chance" of snow) returns early in the week.

In other news, Sitka is without its main internet provider, GCI, as emergency subsea cable fixin' is happening for about 10 days. Last August, the Internet was down for 3 weeks.

It's quiet at the office, since ...no internet.

6:00AM: 31F, a few clouds.

Today, sunny; Friday, sunny; Saturday, partly sunny; Sunday, mostly sunny.

Because I cannot be seen to be a Weather Scrooge, I'll allow the sun since I have had quite a bit of dark, rainy weather.

However, I do NOT want sun to become a habit! (Yes, I know the sunny season is soon upon us, but a girl can hope!)

6:00AM: 37F, mostly cloudy. Edited to add, 7:45AM - snow!

80% chance of rain/snow showers today, which gives way to "mostly sunny" from Wednesday on.

It must have snowed a bit last night, there's a crust of some sort of icy something on the back deck. Since I have on slippers, I did not step out to investigate.

Seems your intrepid weather-gal has some limits after all.

5:45AM: 43F, overcast.

The NWS forecast this morning is delightfully detailed.

Rain showers before 7AM, then rain/snow between 7 and 4, then back to rain. High near 43 (done!) SE wind changing to SW in the afternoon could gust up to 30mph.

The kicker?

"New snow accumulation of around an inch possible."

"Le sigh."

I'll be in a bad mood from the time change for a few days...snow accumulation with freezing temps expected does NOT help! (Ice = no bueno!)
