Going through old photographs and I believe this is Raglan Castle (I tend to binge castles on my visits to Wales).
I love the evocative old stairways and doorways into bare rooms, cool, damp and dark, but once filled with warmth and wealth. There is little left but echoes and whispers of the people who once walked these well-worn steps.
It’s all good fodder for my creative writing.
I'm slightly surprised the offender didn't get a whole life order in this case (3 #murders using an illegally obtained #firearm) even though he was young, but he will remain in #prison for longer than I am likely to be alive!
I still think there's an anomaly with #sentencing for #murder in #England / #Wales - those who target people known to them seem to get get shorter #sentences than those who attack strangers

And catching up on my photos from earlier this week... I loved my first view when I stepped off the train in Leeds (my first-ever UK home, for several years) and I loved my first view as I crossed the bridge at my very different train station back in Wales, the home where I've settled for good. 
I feel incredibly lucky to have experienced life in both places!

This stone near Porthmadog was discovered lying beneath earth and overgrowth during some field maintenance about 30 years ago. Its location, size and shape convinced those involved that the stone had previously stood and a decision was taken to re-erect the stone. #Wales #StandingStoneSunday More…

In Welsh myths, when the people of northern Wales offended the fairies, the fairies unleashed an army of monsters. It included a huge toad with sharp claws, a serpent with 100 damned souls writhing under its skin, and a 100-headed monster so huge battles could be fought on its jaws.
