Another #filmphotography and #believeinfilm question, but this one for advanced film photographers. How small a negative can an iphone camera fill a screen with sharply? (I'm trying to establish the lowest common denominator for scanning.)

A train comes down the track by the Sunkist packing plant. As it comes near, the vibration of its passing makes it impossible to hold the camera steady.
Hey, #believeinfilm and #filmphotography folks, a question specifically for people who are just starting out with film or are thinking about it but unsure of where to start. My photo club would like to help out beginners in our area, so we're thinking of holding some kind of workshop, but we know too much and have been doing this too long to know what beginners might need. Would it be:
- How to develop your own film?
- How to buy a film camera?
- How exposure works?
- Something else?

The Sunkist packing plant and the nearby railroad depot were located within a few blocks of several places in which I lived in Riverside. These photos are from a walk that I took down by the depot late one night.
Happy weekend from Tokyo!
Today I have a bit of medium-format film photography from the town of Balingen, Germany. It features the Zollern Castle alongside a historic tanners' district known as "Little Venice."

One: The front desk of a very cheap hotel. It's not clear what I was doing here. If it had been a year earlier, I would have been looking for a room.

Still unhappy with the the dress rehearsal photos, I returned for the performance and dutifully recorded "The Shakers" from the control room. This shot is a sample. Movies of this well-known piece as performed in different places are available on youtube, so I'm not going to bother processing the other shots in this series and posting them here.
Next roll: My life continues.
A collection of #35mm film photos, shot on my grandad's 1970s Zenit-E. Intrigued by these curious scenes, or the type of film used?

The last of the dress rehearsal pictures.
You saw these same dancers rehearsing this piece several times earlier, but not looking this way!
One.

These photos of the dress rehearsal itself were a big disappointment. The lighting turned out to be much brighter than what I had metered, and all of these shots are massively overexposed, made worse by pushing the film. There is, unfortunately, no other record.
Photographs of the 1969 concert (actually commissioned by the dance department) turned out much better, as you will eventually see.
One.
I feel like sharing some more film photography tonight - here are some cherry blossom photos from Shoin Shrine in the Setagaya Ward of Tokyo.
