I can't vote in #oakland elections (although I follow #oakmtg with interest)

Someone just (well, two hours ago) kicked in the back door of my neighbor's house in #oakland and burglarized them. Seems like the burglars did some prep work and carefully avoided any of the places where my or my neighbor's cameras could see anything. As usual, no sign (or expectation) of OPD showing up or doing anything -- $375M/year ($852/year/resident, only 50% more per capita than peer cities like Boston) doesn't buy you a police department that actually responds to calls.

I recognize that, statistically, Oakland isn't a particularly high-crime city, but it's still scary when it's next door.

I got this accursed email from the Golden State Warriors today.

So far the Warriors have:

- Betrayed #Oakland by moving to SF
- Promoted, with the NBA, gambling, endangering people's lives and welfare
- Openly collaborate with crypto-grifters, the same people who spent billions to help re-elect a rapist and felon

Total Wines and More opened a new store on the #Oakland / #Emeryville border where the sporting goods store was.

They contracted a security company whose staff openly wear fascist slogans on their uniforms.

That's not good, and says the only people they want shopping there are fascists.

My advice for Oaklanders, is to not vote for anyone who supported the recall of the Mayor, and vote for anyone that the recall supports tell you not to vote for.

I just got an email telling me not to vote for Barbara Lee.

This is West #Oakland. The turkeys do not care for your silly human notions.
